Hello, lovely readers. I am on a brief hiatus due to a loss in the family but will be back with new reviews (featuring some excellent new children’s titles) and giveaways shortly. In the meantime, please enjoy one of my favourites- this incredibly gorgeous song from Fleet Foxes. Advertisements
Happy and safe holidays to all!! (I’ve shared the Last Christmas video before, but I cannot help myself, it is forever awesome. Our family may have decorated our tree listening to a Christmas mix with me giving it my all when Last Christmas came on…). Also! Don’t forget to enter the Christmas Picture Books Giveaway (open to Canadian residents until December 31st) if you haven’t yet!
My husband and I recently watched the 2013 film, Begin Again, starring Mark Ruffalo, Keira Knightley, James Corden and Adam Levine. And…we both adored it. The performances are great and the MUSIC in the film is fantastic, just mesmerizing. It made me think of how little I have been listening to music as of late, instead listening to audiobooks to keep my reading goals on track. While I don’t take back any of the time I have spent listening to audiobooks (there have been some excellent listens!), the lovely melodies and lyrics in Begin Again kind of reignited that pull of needing music around me more. So, after that rather long preamble, I would like to share some music of some favourite bands (and songs I continue to be entranced by)…and something lovely from Begin Again….
Christopher Walken can fly, folks! This music video (directed by Spike Jonze!) is from 2001, can you believe it?
This. Song. So much gorgeousness. The melody, the lyrics, Nick Cave’s voice. There’s just something about ‘Love Letter’ that hits me at the core and makes me well up every time I hear it. I adore this song so much that, even though it was posted on my old site, I must post this video here again. I hope you enjoy.
Have a great weekend all! (For some reason, I find Bruno Mars a delight…)
Those opening notes! Again: Those opening notes!
From the Official Entertainment Repository (or, YouTube): Happy weekend! Also: a reminder that Clueless was released in 1995. 1995!!
Though I have not seen ‘Inside Llewyn Davis‘ in its entirety, I have heard the gorgeous music multiple times, thanks to Mr. Fab’s raves. The soundtrack (produced by T Bone Burnett, featuring Oscar Isaac, Justin Timberlake & more) is, I think, pretty wonderful. Some standouts: Hope you enjoy!
My last post: all about Seinfeld. This post: Stephen Merchant, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, lip synching with Jimmy Fallon. All good things. I know it’s a much-viewed clip, but it’s just so joyful and nuts. Bonus: Paul Rudd. His Tina Turner is quite awesome.
